The Great Outdoors
We've lived near a beautiful state park for the past eight years - this year we've FINALLY purchased an annual pass. Mateo and I took Lucy there the other day and walked around the lake. It felt like being on vacation - so nice. At least until Mateo tired of walking, then insisted on hanging precariously over the edge of a dock, and finally burst into tears when it was time to go home. C'est la vie. Note Mateo putting Lucy's leash around his foot - luckily she's not a sprinter.

Ballet Folklorico
Hoppin' all over the place...
I think I saw the Easter Bunny!
Would you like some cookies with that frosting?
In lieu of decorating Easter eggs this year, we decorated Easter egg cookies. I picked some eggs up from our neighbor with the intention of dying them with natural dyes, but in the end a) they were quite lovely in their natural state of muted greens and browns, and b) I just didn't have the energy for it. How many people have that Martha Stewart-ish intention of using natural dyes and never get around to it? Maybe one of these years... At any rate, Mateo seemed perfectly happy with this alternative :-)

Uncle Fred sent these photos of an Earth Day celebration in Arkansas - one of Avery and George, and the other of a fearless female flinging fire. Our celebration was much tamer than that - we made Earth Day tambourines. Would've been fun to be there - thanks, Fred!
